Treatments
The understanding of kinesiology is fundamental for the analysis and treatment of problems in the musculoskeletal neuromuscular system as well as how the body system is affected as a whole by conditions that do not directly affect it. The kinesiologist is a specialist in the enhancement, maintenance of the individual's physiological capacity, and prevention of its alterations. Their training allows them to intervene in psychomotor recovery and rehabilitation through the application of physical techniques and procedures. However, human movement (in all its branches) is mainly analyzed from the perspective of physical sciences.
Kinesiology is dedicated to compensating for mechanical tensions in the body; through the testing of 12 to 42 muscles assigned to different meridians, tensional imbalances caused by a pernicious or negative condition are detected. This method allows for the detection of poor distributions of mechanical tensions long before acute discomfort arises. With the help of different methods, the body is balanced and dysfunctions corrected.
Kinesiology is a natural science that on its own is not regulated for professional practice, being within alternative therapies. For this reason, in Spain it has only been implemented for approximately 10 years, within the degree in Physiotherapy.
For the application of Kinesiology, we must have accredited knowledge within the health sciences.
I use Kinesiology as one more tool within the different techniques or disciplines available to me to discover the root cause of the problem for which the patient comes to my consultation.
